This is a quick snapshot of my top few Las Vegas hotels from the perspective of Digital Marketing  strategy. It is by no means an exhaustive guide, and is sorted randomly.

This is currently a work in progress, and will be updated through May 2014.

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas

Website Facebook

Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas Website

Needless to say, the Mandarin Oriental hotel website is beautiful. Great use of graphics and colours. Not too cluttered. Important links right on the top. The website has a focus on the call to action – “Book your stay”, and provides Contact Details and Maps & Directions. The web design can be tweaked do better on mobile devices.

On Facebook, they have 2,774 ratings and 24,662 likes. Fans engage with the posts – their update three weeks ago got 46 likes and 3 comments. The hotel has used beautiful pictures – items pulled out from their menu, showcase amenities, personalities like a celebrity chef, hotel events, local events, press coverage. Interestingly, they also use Facebook Notes. Good work !

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas

Four Seasons Las Vegas – Website on Mobile

Website Instagram

Good use of pictures and a slider, very clear focus on Reservations. Excellent. Text readable on a mobile, but IMHO needs to invest further in a responsive website or a mobile-only website. Everything you need is right there on the home page, without cluttering the page.

On Facebook, they have 1,160 ratings and 9,809 likes. Whats more, they are using Pintrest, Instagram and Videos apps. Superb ! On Instagram, they have 1,779 followers with 594 posts – 11 of their last 15 posts are about food. An important point is cross branding – they add an occasional post about their sister properties, an interesting way to use Instagram for hotel marketing. Excellent.

Uncluttered look, great visuals. This hotel knows what it’s guests want – reservations, dining and entertainment. Website is responsive, looks gorgeous and very easy to use on mobile. Phone number displayed on the desktop version changes to a simple Call icon when viewing the website on your phone. Intuitive.

Stunning 89,400 likes on Facebook with great engagement – 2,258 talking about it. Celebrities, Amenities, Food – its all there. To put things in perspective, they have 3,066 rooms – almost 30 likes per room. They also use events, polls and videos on Facebook. Their update three weeks ago with a room shot and a catchy caption that isn’t just “book, book, book” got them 625 likes, 34 shares and 28 comments. Awesome job !
